Stacey Valasco
2008 Miss Montana Teen USA
Stacey Velasco is an 18 year old recent graduate of Beaverhead County High in Dillon Montana. She has lived on the Matador ranch with her family for the past 7 years. Her father is the assistant manager for a 300,000 acre cattle operation. Each year the ranch has 6 thousand baby calves born. Stacey has grown up around horses and cattle although her real love has been for activities in town.
She has played on many sports teams in Dillon during her high school years. The last two years she has earned her way to the state tournament for tennis. She achieved an academic award and has been on the honor roll throughout her entire high school career. She played basketball, volleyball and most recently has been a cheerleader for the Dillon Beavers.
Stacey has been involved with dance since she was 8 years old and is known for her back flips while doing her routines. She and her dance team attended the state dance competition in Billings with their original hip hop routine.
She not only loves sports but also loves having the chance to make new friends from other teams from other towns. Stacey has very strong family support and knows that her two sisters and parents are her biggest fans. Her oldest sister Anna is twenty five and is a Chemical Engineer for Halliburton in Texas. She also has a sister named Laura that is a 21 year old senior at MSU Bozeman taking pre-med courses. Her mother Sheila works for the Youth Challenge Program, helping at risk youth earn their GEDs and make a clean start. Her father Kyle is the assistant manager at the ranch where he supervises ten ranch hands on a daily basis.
She is devoted to the Youth Connections Mentoring Program. She was honored to be the first High School student to become a board member of this program and she is a mentor for a young girl that is very dear to her.
When Stacey is not playing sports or spending time with the little girl she mentors, she works at the YMCA as a personal trainer. She enjoys helping people set goals for themselves with a workout routine and diet.
Stacey’s future plans include attending college at Texas A&M University to earn a degree in business and marketing. She is extremely excited about being able to represent the teens of Montana in the upcoming Miss Teen USA pageant.
